Ugly/funny/awesome

It's ok, I'm doing fine. Haven't had the time or the energy to update this blog or to take new pictures. My outfits have been kind of blah anyway. I'm still adjusting to a new life and it's an every day challenge. Have been doing a lot of thinking too. Sure I will tell what the conclusions are.

Meanwhile let me share with you my unconditional love for ugly/funny/awesome (UFA) sweaters. I found a webpage for people like me. Here are my favorite ones:

Fuck color blocking, hippy chic or whatever the next trend is according to Elle magazine. The next big thing are the UFA sweaters!!! Yeah, I know a couple of celebrities were seen wearing Mickey Mouse tees or sweaters with dog faces. And a couple of designers went this path as well. But every single attempt was just... well... cute. UFA sweaters are all about commitment. And the only person I know who is trully committed to UFA sweaters is Leslie Hall. And her Gem Sweater Museum.

Anyway. When I found this webpage dedicated to these Christmas themed sweaters, I immediately thought of a friend of mine who sure shares the same love for UFA sweaters. He made a couple of pieces for the latest collection of his brand - Midnight Rendez-Vous. Check them out:

Aren't these the coolest sweaters you've ever seen? I mean, look! There are neon stripes and puppies! I'm planning to go back to Paris in January so hopefully I'll get my hands on one of these babes.

As far as I know Midnight Rendez-Vous isn't sold online on any European site. Yet. There is an online shop project going on so hopefully an end will be put to this tragedy. Meanwhile check out Midnight Rendez-vous' tumblr and like it on facebook!

In conclusion UFA sweaters won't come to you easily. Which makes them even cooler. There will be a lot of thrifting involved before you find wonderful pieces of awesomeness like the first ones shown above. Or you will have to travel to Paris to a find a unique one like those designed by Midnight Rendez-Vous. It's all about commitment, remember?

As for me, I'll go and listen to Leslie Hall. It always makes me feel better.
